Hi, I'm Meg!
Certified Nurse Midwife
My journey in the healthcare field began with a deeply rewarding experience volunteering as a 'baby cuddler' at the Pediatric Interim Care Center in Kent, WA, where I provided comfort to drug-exposed and medically fragile newborns. This role quickly became the highlight of my week and ignited my passion for healthcare. Over the span of more than a decade, I progressed from caring for hospitalized pediatric patients to working at the Labor & Delivery bedside, where I spent years tirelessly educating and advocating for patients during 12-hour shifts.
As time passed, I felt a growing desire to provide even more comprehensive care, which prompted a significant career change. I decided to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Cincinnati, specializing in Nurse-Midwifery as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). This transition allowed me to fulfill my aspiration of delivering the kind of care I believe every individual should receive.
I graduated from UC in 2023 and took my passion and commitment into my own hands by opening Tri Cities Midwifery, helping to provide additional options for care in our community. I saw a need for trauma-informed, evidence based, compassionate care for birthing people as well as gynecology and well-care. In my time as a provider, I have encountered many people who were traumatized by their past experiences with pap-smears, pelvic exams, IUD insertions, and even discussions about birth control options and STD testing. I have seen many types of care at the bedside that made me want to offer my community different options for their care. My goal is to fill that gap and help people experience care the way it should be – compassionate, with shared decision making and the client centered at the heart of care.
With my combined experience in both hospital birth and out-of-hospital birth, I brings a wealth of knowledge about the benefits and risks of each, as well as an understanding of the vulnerable, sensitive nature of reproductive health, gynecological health, and well-care. I have attended births in the hospital, in a free-standing birth center and births in the home, including water births.
Head on over to Home Birth for a discussion on the safety and benefits of home birth.

Tri Cities Midwifery
Welcome to Tri Cities Midwifery, where we celebrate the journey to parenthood and provide comprehensive care for everyone. I'm Meg, the owner, a dedicated midwife and preventive healthcare provider. Our practice is built on trust in physiologic birth, a commitment to autonomy, and a strong belief in inclusivity.
Physiologic Birth:
I have immense faith in the innate strength and wisdom of the human body during childbirth. It's about trusting the natural process and allowing it to unfold smoothly. Over my career, I've seen many people harness their inner strength to bring new life into the world. My approach is rooted in providing the support, guidance, and care needed for a safe and empowering birthing experience.
Preventive Health Care:
I believe in holistic healthcare, which means I consider not only your physical health but also your emotional, social, and cultural well-being. Whether you need routine check-ups like pap-smears, family planning, gynecological care, or support with reproductive health, I am here to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care. I use a holistic approach to blood work, with more narrow "normal" windows than most laboratories. I offer iron infusion therapy at lab values most providers do not consider.
Autonomy:
Your birth journey is uniquely yours. I recognize that every individual and family has their own set of preferences, values, and desires when it comes to childbirth. My role as your midwife is to empower you with information, guidance, and choices. I am here to support your decisions and ensure that you have the autonomy to make informed choices that align with your beliefs and desires while prioritizing the safety and well-being of both you and your baby. Your voice matters, and I am here to listen and respect it in a way that upholds responsible and evidence-based decision-making.
Inclusivity:
Inclusivity is at the heart of my midwifery practice. I welcome individuals and families from all backgrounds, cultures, orientations, and identities. I believe that every person deserves compassionate and respectful care, and I am committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for all. Diversity is celebrated here, and everyone is treated with the utmost respect and kindness.
