Do you take insurance?

Compassionate, Personalized Care for Your Birth Journey

Babies are so exciting — and yes, sometimes overwhelming! My goal as your midwife is to help you feel confident, supported, and informed through every step of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I’m currently accepting new clients and offer free, no-obligation in-person consultations. During our visit, we’ll talk about the type of care I provide, my qualifications, and the differences between out-of-hospital midwifery care and hospital-based birth.

Why I Don’t Bill Insurance Directly

I’ve chosen not to contract with or bill insurance companies directly because the insurance system simply isn’t designed to support the kind of care that home birth midwives provide.

Insurance typically reimburses for short, procedure-based visits and hospital-based services, while midwifery care focuses on:

  • Longer, personalized prenatal visits

  • 24/7 on-call availability

  • Home visits

  • Comprehensive postpartum support

These aspects — the heart of what makes midwifery care so meaningful — are rarely covered adequately by insurance.

The Benefits of Transparent, Out-of-Pocket Care

By working outside the insurance model, I’m able to:

  • Keep my fees clear and predictable

  • Offer individualized, relationship-based care

  • Avoid the administrative costs and restrictions of insurance billing

Many families are surprised to find that paying out of pocket is often comparable to, or even less than, what they would spend on a hospital birth after deductibles, copays, and surprise bills.

With midwifery care, you’ll receive one-on-one support from your midwife throughout your entire experience — something rarely found in hospital settings.

Reimbursement Options

I can provide a detailed claim form (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement or credit toward your deductible. Some Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) can also be used for midwifery care.
